OUR IDENTITY & VISION

The Meaning Behind Our Name & Vision

Welcome to the SRAS Skandha Foundation. When we laid the cornerstone of this institution, we chose a name that reflects both our unshakeable spiritual compass and our operational strength.

SRAS stands as our primary name, our core identity, and the ultimate driving force behind our foundation. It represents our deepest, foundational roots and a sacred resolve that guides every single action we take. To support this main pillar, we chose the name Skandha. Inspired by the protective, courageous energy of Lord Subramanya, Skandha literally translates to "the shoulders of strength" and "a sturdy tree trunk."

True to this meaning, our goal is to act as an unshakeable support system for society. We are the strong shoulders that underserved communities can lean on, and a sheltering canopy providing equitable access to essential resources. Just as the five traditional skandhas encompass the entirety of human existence, our five key initiatives—spanning Educational Egalitarianism, Healthcare Logistics, Vocational Empowerment, Ecological Restoration, and the eternal flame of Annadana—converge to fully restore human dignity.

Our mandate is vast: To Ignite One Crore Destinies. Guided by our core values of Sanctity, Strength, and Service, we invite you to join us in building a more equitable, progressive, and compassionate world.
